Design Notes
Every compression driver diaphragm is a compromise. Titanium rings. Polymers soften detail. Glass does neither. The 202N-GL is built around a precision-formed glass dome — the only one of its kind in the world — pairing metal-like stiffness with the natural internal damping metals can't offer. Breakup is pushed out of the working band, so the response stays smooth and controlled from 1 kHz to 20 kHz, exactly as the Klippel measurements show. Behind the glass: a 3" copper-clad aluminium ribbon voice coil on a kapton former, a powerful neodymium motor and a PEI surround, delivering 109.5 dB sensitivity from a package just 58 mm deep and 1.9 kg light.
