Ordering & MOQ
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for standard catalog drivers?
The MOQ for standard catalog drivers is 1 piece. Our MOQs are flexible — pricing is quantity-driven, so larger orders attract better unit prices.
Is the MOQ different for customized or OEM versions?
Yes. OEM and customized versions typically require higher MOQs, driven by the minimum purchase quantities of the raw materials and components involved.
Can I mix models in one order?
Yes. Each product has its own MOQ, and for catalog products that MOQ is exactly 1 — so you can combine any mix of catalog models in a single order.
Can I buy a single driver or small DIY quantities? Where should end users buy?
Yes. You can buy directly from us, or through our distributors and online retailers. For single pieces, shipping directly from the factory may not be the most economical option — a distributor or retailer in your region is often the better route. See the contact page for our distributor list.
Do you sell direct, or through distributors and representatives?
Both. We sell directly and through regional sales representatives and distributors. The contact page lists our offices, representatives, and distributors by region.
Do you hold stock of standard models, or is everything made to order?
We aim to hold most catalog items in stock. Larger quantities may need to be built to order.
How do repeat orders work?
We run several operational modes to match your purchasing pattern: pure make-to-order (no stock guarantee), negotiated buffer-stock levels, and forecast-driven production. For recurring demand, an agreed buffer stock or rolling forecast can shorten and stabilize lead times.
Samples & Prototyping
How do I get samples? Are they free or paid?
Samples are paid. Contact us by email — or through the contact form, choosing "Request samples or a quotation" — with the product codes and quantities you need.
What is the typical sample lead time?
About 3 days for stocked items and about 25 days for non-stocked items.
How many samples can you supply for evaluation?
Any quantity you require.
Is the sample cost credited against a production order?
Not directly. We may credit the difference between the higher sample price and the production unit price once a production order is placed.
Can samples be customized, or standard spec only?
It depends on the product. Some modifications (for example impedance) are possible; others require extended engineering work. Contact us with your specific request and we will confirm what is feasible.
Can I get measurement data with samples?
Certainly. We collect extensive measurement data from every sample and from production builds — T/S parameters, frequency response, impedance curves, and Klippel data — and can provide it along with your samples.
Lead Times & Logistics
What is the typical production lead time for standard drivers?
45 calendar days.
What is the lead time for a custom/OEM product?
Production lead time is 45 calendar days. For a new project, add the design and validation phase up front — its duration depends on the complexity of the design.
Which Incoterms do you quote?
Typically EXW or FOB Shenzhen. For OEM customers, shipping terms are negotiable — we can work with whichever Incoterm suits your logistics.
Do you ship worldwide? Who arranges freight and customs?
Yes — we ship worldwide. We can arrange freight for you, or work with your preferred forwarder.
Can you ship directly to my contract manufacturer or a third-party warehouse?
Yes, no problem — we do this very often.
What are the packaging details (units per carton, pallets, weights)?
Packaging depends on the product and quantity. Contact us with the specific model and volume and we will calculate cartons, pallet dimensions, and weights precisely.
What is your production capacity?
Capacity varies with driver size and complexity; on average around 8,000 drivers per day.
Pricing & Payment
Is there a published price list? How do I get pricing?
Recommended retail pricing (RRP/MSRP) is available from our online retailers or on request. For project and volume pricing, contact us with the models and quantities you need.
Do you offer quantity discounts?
Yes. Quantity discounts vary per model — ask for a quotation at your target volumes.
What are your payment terms?
We are very flexible on payment terms — whether T/T, L/C, deposit-based, or net terms, contact us with your specific requirements.
What currency do you quote in?
USD or RMB.
How long is a quotation valid?

When do tooling / NRE charges apply, and what is the typical range?
Tooling and NRE apply to custom developments that need dedicated tools. The range is wide: simple tools can cost as little as a few tens of dollars, while complex injection tools can exceed $50,000. NRE charges are refunded against placed production orders.
OEM/ODM Development
What does the OEM/ODM development process look like?
We follow a well-established development process: sample builds (S1…Sn), followed by engineering, design, and production validation stages (EVT, DVT, PVT), and then mass production (MP). Each stage has defined deliverables, milestones, and decision points. Customers and partners get full access to our project-management tools — data, schedules, and risk analysis — through our software backbone.
What inputs do you need to start an OEM project?
The more detail, the better: target specifications, response targets, enclosure constraints, drawings — whatever you have. You can attach drawings and specification files directly to the contact form (choose "Develop an OEM/ODM product"). Complete inputs let our engineering team evaluate the request properly, let our commercial team quote accurately, and prevent mistakes downstream.
What is a typical development timeline from spec to mass production?
It can be as fast as 60 days; the current average is around 6 months, depending on complexity.
Are there development / engineering fees?
We charge NRE for custom development, and we refund the NRE against placed production orders.
Who owns the tooling and the design IP of a custom driver?
Tooling: if you invest in the tools, jigs, and fixtures, they are fully yours and under your control. Design IP follows the origin of the design: if you provide a complete design, the IP is yours; if we design the product fully, the IP is ours; where we collaborate on the design, ownership is agreed case by case.
Can my custom design be exclusive to me?
Yes, no problem — exclusivity is standard practice with our OEM partners. Where exclusivity is agreed, your design is not offered to anyone else.
Do you sign NDAs?
Of course. Send us yours, or we can provide our standard NDA.
What annual volume justifies a fully custom development?
There is no single number — it depends on many variables: whether the product shares parts with an existing design, whether it requires special technology, and whether it is positioned as high-volume/low-cost or low-volume/high-performance. Contact us with your project and we will advise honestly whether custom development makes sense.
Can you match or cross an existing driver from another manufacturer?
Yes. Send us the datasheet or measurement data of the driver you like and we will check whether we have a counterpart available, or tell you what it would take to design something similar. A 100% performance match — especially a 1:1 match of SPL and THD — is rather difficult, but we will be upfront about how close we can get.
Do you offer private labeling / custom branding on standard drivers?

Customization
What can be customized on a standard driver?
Standard drivers come as they are, but we offer impedance variants. Modifications beyond impedance — connectors, cones, cosmetics — move the project into an OEM partnership, where far more is possible.
Can you develop a fully custom transducer from a blank sheet?
Yes — we certainly can, and we do so daily.
Which impedance options are available?
2, 4, 8, and 16 Ω on catalog drivers; any impedance as needed on OEM designs.
Can you tune T/S parameters to a target?
Yes. We have comprehensive design capabilities and can tune Fs, Qts, BL, Xmax, and other parameters to your targets.
Do you supply only drivers, or complete systems too?
We supply the full range: individual parts, electronic sub-assemblies, and complete audio systems.
Quality & Testing
What testing does every production driver undergo?
We test 100% of production: every driver gets an end-of-line audio test (Klippel QC or SoundCheck QC), a listening test, and a visual inspection. In addition, two randomly selected drivers from every production batch undergo a 48-hour Klippel power test.
What quality certifications do you hold?
We are IATF 16949 certified and TÜV audited, and we regularly undergo audits by our OEM partners.
How are your power ratings defined?
Our baseline rating is AES power, measured per the AES2 standard (2-hour test with band-limited noise). Continuous power is rated at 2× the AES power, and peak power at 4× the AES power. The same convention applies across the whole catalog.
Are published T/S parameters measured broken-in or fresh?
Broken-in. Drivers are broken in with 2 hours at full power, followed by a 12-hour cool-down, before the T/S parameters are captured.
What measurement data can you provide per production batch?
Full Klippel and SoundCheck output — either as raw KDBX files, or converted and uploaded to our website for you.
What AQL / acceptance criteria do you apply to production batches?
We test 100% of production at end-of-line, so we do not rely on sampling for functional quality. Outgoing audits follow standard AQL sampling practice, and acceptance criteria can be aligned with your incoming-inspection requirements.
Do drivers carry serial numbers or date codes for traceability?
We have 100% traceability. Every driver carries a QR code or barcode that traces it back through all manufacturing steps, components, and raw-material data.

Yes — our products comply with the applicable regulatory requirements, and we can provide test reports from accredited laboratories.

Warranty & After-Sales
What warranty do you offer?

How do I file a warranty claim?
Use the structured claim form at redcatt.net/warranty-claim — it collects the product details, defect description, and photos our QC team needs. Please do not return any product before an RMA has been issued.
Are recone kits / spare diaphragms available?
Yes. Where reconing a driver is economically feasible, recone kits are available.
Do you offer out-of-warranty repair?
Yes. All our products can be repaired, either directly by us or by our partners.

How does REDCATT compare to older, more established driver manufacturers?
We are not the oldest name in the industry — some driver manufacturers have been building for forty or sixty years. We see our age as an advantage: we are young, driven, and built our products and operations from a clean sheet, without the legacy structures that decades of history often bring — overheads that, in the end, the customer pays for. And more than a decade in an industry this fiercely competitive is itself evidence that we have something to offer.
Are you the actual manufacturer or a trading company?

How large is the operation?
Our factory comprises a 2,600 m² facility with an 11,000 m² expansion, running 5 production lines for drivers and 2 lines for complete audio systems. Average capacity is about 8,000 drivers per day, with a headcount of around 200 people.
How long has REDCATT been in business?
REDCATT has been designing and manufacturing loudspeakers since 2014.
Which brands use your drivers?
Most of our OEM partners are under NDA, so we cannot name them publicly. But think of ten well-known professional audio brands — we likely supply six of them.

Product Selection & Technical Data
Where do I find full specifications, drawings, and 3D files?
Every product page includes the full specification table, a PDF datasheet, 2D drawings, and 3D STEP files under Downloads. Start at the product catalog.
What do your product codes mean?
Codes follow a fixed scheme: category – size – design number – impedance – packaging – version. Example DR-15-004-8R-B2-C0001: DR = loudspeaker driver (CD = compression driver), 15 = nominal size in inches, 004 = design number, 8R = 8 Ω nominal impedance (coaxials show both sections, e.g. 4R8R = 4 Ω LF + 8 Ω HF), B2 = packaging code (retail packaging), C0001 = the standard REDCATT catalog version. The full code is the stable identifier — always quote it when ordering or requesting support.
How do I choose between ferrite and neodymium versions?
The main difference is weight and bulk: neodymium motors are lighter and more compact than their ferrite counterparts. Acoustic performance can be designed to match in either technology, so the choice usually comes down to the weight budget and dimensions of your product.
How do I pick the right driver for my enclosure, SPL target, or frequency band?
Start with the filters on the product catalog — driver type, size, magnet, impedance, plus engineering ranges for AES power, sensitivity, Fs, Qts, Xmax, depth, weight, and voice-coil diameter — and the comparison guide. In the catalog you can also tick "+ Compare" on up to 5 drivers to see their full specifications side by side, export the comparison, and request a quote for the shortlist. Can you recommend enclosure volume and tuning for a specific driver?
Yes — calculated enclosure recommendations are published as part of the specifications on each product page. Use them as general guidance, and contact us if your application needs engineering support.
