REDCATT professional mid-woofers & midranges
Filter the full catalogA mid-woofer trades the deepest bass for a light, well-damped cone and a suspension that stays linear at high sound-pressure levels, so the midrange stays clean when the system is driven hard. Frequency-response and impedance plots are published for every model.

How to choose professional mid-woofers & midranges
Bandwidth and breakup
Look at the published frequency response for a smooth top end up to and beyond the intended crossover point. Lighter cones extend bandwidth; treated paper and composite cones push breakup above the crossover.
Sensitivity for arrays and columns
Multiple mid-woofers in a line-array element or column are usually driven in series-parallel; high sensitivity per driver keeps the amplifier requirement reasonable and the power compression low.
Mounting depth and frame
Shallow, narrow-frame drivers allow tight centre-to-centre spacing in columns and arrays, which controls the vertical pattern. Depth, bolt circle and cutout are on every product page and in the STEP model.
Neodymium for weight, ferrite for cost
Flown and portable systems favour neodymium; installed and high-volume OEM products often favour ferrite. Both are available across the range.
Typical applications
- Line-array elements and column loudspeakers
- Compact two-way PA and stage monitors
- Midrange section of three-way systems
- Installed and commercial sound
- OEM powered and passive loudspeakers
Engineering data for every model
Full Thiele/Small parameters, frequency-response and impedance plots, datasheet PDF, 2D drawing and 3D STEP model on each product page, and the same data as JSON from the product API.
Independently tested professional mid-woofers & midranges
1 of the 32 drivers on this page have been measured or reviewed by independent publications. Metadata and links only; REDCATT does not publish ratings it did not earn. See all coverage on the reviews page.
Custom professional mid-woofers & midranges for OEM and ODM programmes
Every driver on this page can be adapted for an OEM programme at REDCATT's own factory in Dongguan: impedance, voice coil, cone or diaphragm, surround, motor and frame changes, or a new design built to a target specification. Standard catalog drivers have a minimum order quantity of 1 piece; custom and OEM MOQs are flexible, starting at 100 pieces, with quantity-tiered pricing; production lead time is 45 calendar days.
Tooling and NRE apply to custom developments that need dedicated tools. The range is wide: simple tools can cost as little as a few tens of dollars, while complex injection tools can exceed $50,000. NRE charges are refunded against placed production orders.
Quality and warranty
- - ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 certified quality system.
- - Every unit measured end-of-line; see the production consistency report.
- - Three-year limited warranty.
Mid-Woofers questions
What is a mid-woofer?
A mid-woofer is a low-frequency driver optimised for the midrange as well as the bass, typically used from about 80 Hz to 2 kHz or higher in a two-way cabinet, or as the midrange section of a three-way system. REDCATT lists 32 such drivers from 6 to 15 inches.
Which drivers are suited to line arrays and columns?
The 6-inch to 10-inch mid-woofers with high sensitivity and shallow frames are the usual choice; the spec table on this page lists depth, sensitivity and Fs for each model so candidates can be shortlisted quickly.
Are full measurement data available?
Yes. Every product page publishes the complete Thiele/Small set, frequency-response and impedance plots, a datasheet, a 2D drawing and a 3D STEP model.
Can the drivers be customised?
Yes, through the OEM/ODM process: cone, surround, coil, impedance and frame changes are all possible with an MOQ that is flexible, starting at 100 pieces, with quantity-tiered pricing.
