Every driver is published with its complete Thiele/Small parameter set, frequency-response and impedance measurements, a datasheet PDF, a 2D drawing and a 3D STEP model, so a system designer can simulate a cabinet before ordering a sample. 8 of the drivers have been independently measured and reviewed by audioXpress / Voice Coil and other publications.

How to choose professional loudspeaker drivers

Start from the application, not the driver

A two-way PA top, a subwoofer, a column, a stage monitor and a ceiling speaker each want a different balance of sensitivity, excursion and bandwidth. The category pages below group the catalog the way a system designer thinks about it.

Match size and power to the box

Nominal diameter sets cone area (Sd), and with Xmax it sets how much air a driver can move. The AES power rating on every REDCATT datasheet is the two-hour AES2-1984 figure; programme power is twice that and peak four times.

Use the T/S data, not the marketing

Fs, Qts and Vas determine whether a driver belongs in a vented, sealed or horn-loaded enclosure. All three are published for every low-frequency driver and can be pulled straight into a simulator.

Neodymium or ferrite

Neodymium motors cut weight by roughly half for the same flux, which matters for flown line-array elements and portable systems. Ferrite motors cost less and are unaffected by rare-earth price swings, which matters for high-volume installed-sound and OEM products.

Every driver on this page can be adapted for an OEM programme at REDCATT's own factory in Dongguan: impedance, voice coil, cone or diaphragm, surround, motor and frame changes, or a new design built to a target specification. Standard catalog drivers have a minimum order quantity of 1 piece; custom and OEM MOQs are flexible, starting at 100 pieces, with quantity-tiered pricing; production lead time is 45 calendar days.

Tooling and NRE apply to custom developments that need dedicated tools. The range is wide: simple tools can cost as little as a few tens of dollars, while complex injection tools can exceed $50,000. NRE charges are refunded against placed production orders.

What engineering data is published?

Every driver page carries the full Thiele/Small parameter set, sensitivity, power handling, voice-coil and magnet details, physical dimensions, a frequency-response and impedance plot, a datasheet PDF, a 2D drawing and a 3D STEP model. The same data is available as JSON from the product API.

What is the warranty on REDCATT drivers?
