15FIND

The 15FIND is a high efficiency, (97 dB 1watt / 1 meter) 15-inch woofer with incredibly linear frequency response characteristics, extreme high power handling capability while generating low harmonic distortion artifacts. The 15FIND uses a lightweight, but strong, glass fiber loaded cone assembly along with a high excursion triple roll constant geometry surround. This combination provides remarkable strength, high efficiency and a peak to peak maximum excursion of 21mm.

Power Handling
At the core of the 15FIND is it’s voice coil technology featuring a composite Polyimide former material capable of withstanding peak temperatures in excess of 250°C, well beyond the thermal requirements of modern professional audio systems. The 15FINDX8-035 is a 15-inch high-efficiency professional woofer rated at 1,000 W AES (2,000 W continuous) into a nominal 8-ohm load. Sensitivity is 96.65 dB (1 W/1 m), among the highest in the 15-inch format. The Qts of 0.36 reflects a motor-suspension design optimized to maintain consistent performance at high drive levels, with controlled excursion and reduced thermal compression during long-term operation. The 101.6 mm (4-inch) voice coil on a glass fiber former with copper windings and Polyimide insulation (250 degC rated) provides the thermal headroom required for sustained high-power operation. A silicone-treated Nomex spider ensures long-term resonant frequency stability and mechanical consistency under high-excursion cycling. The glass fiber loaded paper cone and fabric triple-roll constant geometry surround deliver robust mechanical performance throughout the rated Xmax of 6.75 mm (one-way linear).

The driver is rated for approximately 1,000 W AES (2,000 W continuous) and requires high-power professional amplification. A high-pass filter in the 33-42 Hz range (24 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley) is recommended depending on enclosure tuning, with excursion limiting applied below the port tuning frequency. Typical operating bandwidth is 35-200 Hz in subwoofer applications. DSP processing with peak limiting and crossover control is required for sustained high-power touring and fixed-installation use.

The 15FINDX8-035 is particularly effective in single or multi-driver bass reflex subwoofer enclosures for touring PA, fixed-installation bass systems, and high-SPL bass reproduction where high sensitivity, 1,000 W AES power handling, and the proven glass fiber cone assembly provide consistent, durable performance. The 8-ohm nominal impedance enables flexible series/parallel wiring configurations for multi-driver subwoofer arrays.
