OEM & ODM Loudspeaker Driver Development
REDCATT is a loudspeaker driver manufacturer that develops and builds custom OEM and ODM transducers — subwoofers, woofers, midranges, compression drivers, tweeters and coaxials — at its own factory in Dongguan, China, with engineering teams in Europe, the US, Australia and China. Custom driver development at REDCATT is unusually accessible: standard catalog drivers have a minimum order quantity of 1 piece; custom and OEM MOQs are flexible, starting at 100 pieces, with quantity-tiered pricing; production lead time is 45 calendar days; and tooling and NRE charges for custom developments are refunded against placed production orders.

The same terms, in plain language
REDCATT's minimum order quantity for standard catalog loudspeaker drivers is 1 piece. MOQs for OEM and customized versions are flexible, starting at 100 pieces, driven by the minimum purchase quantities of the raw materials and components involved. Pricing is tiered by order quantity, so larger volumes attract better unit prices.
REDCATT's production lead time for standard catalog drivers is 45 calendar days. For a custom or OEM driver, the design and validation phase comes on top of production: from specification to mass production, it can be as fast as 60 days; the current average is around 6 months, depending on complexity.
Tooling and NRE apply to custom developments that need dedicated tools. The range is wide: simple tools can cost as little as a few tens of dollars, while complex injection tools can exceed $50,000. NRE charges are refunded against placed production orders.
Quotations issued by REDCATT remain valid for 60 days. REDCATT quotes typically EXW or FOB Shenzhen. For OEM customers, shipping terms are negotiable — we can work with whichever Incoterm suits your logistics.
Samples are paid. Contact us by email — or through the contact form, choosing "Request samples or a quotation" — with the product codes and quantities you need. It depends on the product. Some modifications (for example impedance) are possible; others require extended engineering work. Contact us with your specific request and we will confirm what is feasible.
REDCATT supplies full measurement data with samples: we collect extensive measurement data from every sample and from production builds — T/S parameters, frequency response, impedance curves, and Klippel data — and can provide it along with your samples. We may credit the difference between the higher sample price and the production unit price once a production order is placed.
The OEM development process
We follow a well-established development process: sample builds (S1…Sn), followed by engineering, design, and production validation stages (EVT, DVT, PVT), and then mass production (MP). Each stage has defined deliverables, milestones, and decision points. Customers and partners get full access to our project-management tools — data, schedules, and risk analysis — through our software backbone.
Sample builds (S1…Sn)
Iterative engineering sample rounds. Every round is measured — T/S parameters, frequency response, impedance curves, and Klippel data — and reviewed against the target specification before the next build.
EVT — Engineering Validation
The design is proven against the specification: acoustic performance, power handling, thermal behavior, and mechanical fit are verified on engineering builds.
DVT — Design Validation
The design is frozen and validated for real-world conditions: reliability, environmental, and long-duration power testing on design-representative units.
PVT — Production Validation
The product is built on the actual production line with production tooling, fixtures, and end-of-line test stations, validating that the process delivers the design at rate.
MP — Mass Production
Series production with 100% end-of-line testing and full traceability of every unit back through its manufacturing steps, components, and raw materials.
Transparent project management
OEM customers and partners get access to REDCATT's own project-management tooling — schedules, milestone status, open risks, and measurement data — shared directly from the systems our engineers work in.
Standard practice on REDCATT OEM projects: NDAs are signed on request (details), customer-funded tooling belongs to the customer (IP & tooling ownership), and exclusivity on custom designs is available where agreed (exclusivity).
Certified quality system
REDCATT's quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 by NQA (UKAS-accredited) for the design and manufacturing of loudspeakers and speaker systems. Both certificates are downloadable and independently verifiable.
