The Twiggy10X8-475A is a 10-inch ultra-shallow subwoofer driver designed for space-restricted applications where conventional driver mounting depth is prohibitive. With a mounting depth of only 80 mm - roughly half that of a conventional 10-inch woofer - the driver fits under sofas, behind wall panels, beneath car seats, and inside slim furniture-integrated audio systems. It achieves 10.06 mm of linear excursion (18.06 mm mechanical) through an extended voice coil architecture featuring a 2-inch CCAW voice coil on a Kapton former with a 28.12 mm winding height and a neodymium motor with Bl of 19.24 T.m. The glass fiber honeycomb composite cone provides a stiff, lightweight radiating surface, and the rubber surround and Nomex spider support the full excursion range with controlled linearity. Volume displacement is 307 cc, providing substantial low-frequency output capability despite the shallow profile.

For applications requiring deeper anechoic extension, vented or passive radiator configurations in 12 to 17 liters tuned between 34 and 45 Hz extend the -3 dB point to 29-41 Hz. Port lengths exceed 500 mm at these tuning frequencies, making folded slot ports or passive radiators the practical implementation. A passive radiator of matching shallow profile and excursion capability is the preferred solution, enabling a slim panel subwoofer approximately 125 mm deep with genuine deep bass extension to the low 30s Hz. The driver is rated for 150 W AES / 300 W continuous power handling at 4-ohm nominal impedance.

This driver is particularly effective in under-sofa and furniture-hidden subwoofers, automotive shallow-mount installations, in-wall and in-ceiling distributed bass systems, slim panel subwoofers for modern living spaces, and shallow line array bass sections. The ultra-shallow mounting depth, high motor force, extended voice coil excursion, and honeycomb composite cone construction enable deep, controlled bass reproduction from enclosures and installation spaces that cannot accommodate conventional subwoofer drivers.
