The 142FCDX8-557A is a 1.4-inch ferrite compression driver rated at 35 W AES (70 W continuous) into a nominal 8-ohm load. Sensitivity is 105 dB (1 W/1 m). With a free-air resonance of 1,000 Hz and a 25.4 mm horn exit, this driver offers the highest power rating in the 1.4-inch ferrite family, combined with the low Fs of the extended-response variants. The 8-ohm impedance provides direct compatibility with standard professional PA amplifier channels without the need for low-impedance rated output stages. The polymer diaphragm on a 35.6 mm voice coil provides excellent thermal performance supporting the 35 W AES power rating.

The frequency response is usable from approximately 900 Hz with horn loading, with a flat plateau of 103-107 dB maintained from approximately 1.2 kHz to 15 kHz. The low Fs (1,000 Hz) and high power rating make this driver well suited to systems requiring both extended low-frequency coverage from the compression driver and sustained high-power operation. The 25.4 mm exit is compatible with standard 1-inch family horns via appropriate adapters.

The driver is rated for 35 W AES into 8 ohms and is suited for high-power 2-way PA tops and touring monitor systems. A crossover frequency of 1,000-1,800 Hz (18-24 dB/octave high-pass) is recommended, leveraging the low Fs and high power handling. Good to use with 12-15-inch professional woofers such as 12NPMX8-054, 15NPWX8-016, 15FPMX8-063, or 15FINDX8-035 in 2-way high-power touring PA top and stage monitor designs.
